Key Attributes
There are certain phrases that act as an anathema to Francesca.
Included in this forbidden list are ‘just do it’,
‘we are where we are’ and her personal favourite
‘quick win’. Her perspective is simple ‘Having
worked operationally for 10 years, during a time of intense
growth, usually managing young teams seemingly battling every
day with broken internal processes and customer dissatisfaction,
change was actually the norm for me. I then leapt into my
first change management role and boy was that a steep learning
curve. What I learnt in the early days set me in good stead
for supporting companies where change has become a major challenge
and almost something to be feared.
As for my forbidden phrases, well, ‘just do it’
is a perfectly acceptable approach once we understand what
‘it’ is supposed to be solving. We deserve to
be ‘where we are’ and as long as we planned to
be there then I am personally very happy. A ‘quick win’
only occurs once the due diligence has been undertaken, otherwise
the result, in my experience, is neither ‘quick’
nor a ‘win’! Francesca firmly believes that collaborative
working is the corner stone for meeting business challenges
and with the application of a clear framework for success
we can greatly reduce the pain that some companies associate
with managing change.
