Our Approach
There is no right or wrong leadership style; the
most effective style depends on and varies according to the
task, the people and the situation to be managed. All the
styles are more or less effective depending on the characteristics
of the situation, such as:
- The experience of the team
- Employee strengths and weaknesses
- Complexity of the task
- Time pressures
- Risk associated with deviation from performance
- Resources available (e.g. time, people)
Candidates will be required to invite Direct Reports to complete
the Inventory of Leadership Styles questionnaire. Candidates
will also be required to complete a self assessment questionnaire.
The questionnaires will be collated by us and an individual
report generated. The report will be organised into eight
sections and will consist of:
- Overview of concepts
- Definition of Styles
- Interpreting Your Feedback
- Data Validity
- Self Report
- Your raters' experiences
- Comparison
- Tips for Effective Use of Styles
A Being the Change coach will take you through your individual
report and discuss opportunities for developing an array of
leadership styles, which will help you to become a more effective
and powerful leader.
